This is a retro-fit window crank. It is not exactly like the original one but is the best we could come up with. This crank only allows the window to be opened approximately half way but this is still plenty to let fresh air in. You can normally use the same hole in your wood frame for the crank handle to go through but you have to add new holes for the crank to mount in the aluminum window jamb. The channel which is screwed to the window frame, which the roller slides into, must be slighted modified. (see photos) About 1" of this channel needs to be ground down approx. 1/8" so that it will clear the window crank when the window is tightly closed. The tolerences are real tight, so putting spacers/washers under the crank mechanism may need to be done for the crank out arm to clear everything.
If you do not already have, you will need to purchase the crank handle, which is part number CHW001
